/It's taken far longer than I wanted, but the second beta for Heroes Guard: The Journal is finally available for sign-up! There are some minor content updates, but the focus has been on polishing the card-combat and flushing out progressing and high score features.
New combat updates including UI, effects, tutorials, and bug fixes!
Unlock more powerful weapons to aid you on your next adventure!
What will be your outcome? Will you find your way into the Hall of Heroes?
Any future updates will be largely focused on your guys' feedback and content, as such - this may be the last beta build before release! So sign-up now and let me know what tweaks must be done to the game before launch!
Happy Holidays!
/I want to wish everyone a happy holiday and hope that the new year brings good tidings to all!
There are a lot of exciting things happening for the studio in the new year:
- Showcasing at the Smithsonian Indie Arcade on January 16th
- Launch of Heroes Guard: The Journal!
- Card design Contest, where the winner will be included in the first content update!
- Kickstarting the Heroes Guard Tabletop Game that was so popular at conventions!
- Preview of a new puzzle game set in the Heroes Guard universe!
Although next year will be incredible exciting, 2015 was pretty unforgettable:
- Took Heroes Guard: The Journal to conventions and had its first beta - and folks loved it!
- Received a few articles, videos and mentions in the media - starting to gain awareness!
- Hosted a 48 game jam where the game made a top 5 list!
- Went from a social reach of 219 to 2,616 - that is nearly a 1,200% increase!
And the most exciting news of all: I became a dad!

Excited to see what the new year brings us all! :)

It's almost time for Beta!
/Heroes Guard: The Journal is nearly ready for its very first beta!
I'm excited and ever-so nervous to get it in front of real fans of the genre. Every alpha build has gone wonderful, and I could never be more thankful for my friends, family, and followers for the great feedback they have provided so far!
What does beta mean for Heroes Guard? Well, the game is only half-polished - initially focusing on ensuring the story aspects are working as attended for launch. The card combat portion will be the focus for Beta #2. Not to mention, a lot more content is expected for full release!
I'll specifically be reaching out to well-known communities in the interactive fiction world in hopes of collecting their love or hate of the game.
This whole process has been nerve-racking and wonderful at the same time. Thank you all for coming along with me on this journey!
